The Superhero Within: Face painting in Dallas

Superheroes are some of the most popular designs that we paint. I was reminded of this the other day while I was painting at a shopping center. A small boy came to my station, showed me his homemade cape, and asked that I paint a superhero mask on him. His mom looked at me and motioned for me to lean in so that she could whisper in my ear while he climbed into my chair. “It’s his nap blanket for preschool,” she giggled. I was thrilled to see this sweet mom encouraging her son to let his imagination soar! So, he’s wearing a blanket to the mall...You only live once! These precious moments of childhood go by too quickly! This little hero told me what colors he liked and we got to work. When I finished painting him, he was so convincing I found myself checking to make sure he was stepping down from my chair and not trying to fly!!!

Our superpower is to encourage young imaginations through the faces we paint. Our best moments are when your child looks into the mirror and becomes the painted character they see reflected back at them. That is why we do what we do. ❤️
